Aethelia stood on a grassy hill overlooking Acitius City. Humans and their pets bustled about, popping in and out of shops with bags loaded with goods. They looked so happy, so thankful to be in each other's company. It was obvious that they depended on one another and knew it, thus they appreciated one another in a way the young fei had never seen before. She smiled to herself. This was the kingdom she had always dreamed of. The kingdom that when she and her band of travelers found it, had been taken out of their reach.

It was truly an unfortunate tale. Aethelia and a group of like-minded companions had left their small village in search of this fabled kingdom. They wanted to escape the tyranny and destruction of their home for a king who was fair, and who valued their opinions. Above all, they longed for a place where humans and pets lived in harmony, and not in fear of each other. Their journey was long, tiring, and difficult. But finally they had made it--only to discover that the kingdom they hoped for was left in ruins. They had walked through the ashes of the old kingdom, finding the land a barren waste, abandoned and void of life. They had come all this way only to have their hopes... their dreams dashed.

Devastated at first, the companions rallied, agreeing to travel back the way they had come--but not to their home. No they would find a new land, an abandoned wild land to build a new home. All they managed to accomplish was a small town, but it was something, it was a start. They hoped to implement the laws and ideals that had made Acitius City so legendary. They would create their own utopia. They remained a peaceful community for four years, most content to live their lives as they were, but something was always missing -- at least to Aethelia. But what was it?

It started with the lorilos.
